PTG Announces Regional Finals

Monday 4th October saw the launch of League 2, the first official league following completion of the League 1 beta league.   League 2 is going to be a 15 week league due to the Christmas period and venues can register their scores for 12 of these 15 weeks.

Regional Finals will be held on the 22nd or 23rd January 2011 in hmv gamerbase stores around the country. The venues for these regional finals will be confirmed by hmv in the next week or two.

The dates for League 2 are as follows:

Wk 1                       4th October - 10th October                        FIFA

Wk 2                       11th October - 17th October                     COD MW2

Venues can sign up at any stage during the league. If venues have played the 12 weeks they can continue playing for the extra three weeks, however the scores will not need to be loaded.  If venues have missed two of the weeks, it is important to play the correct games of the weeks that were missed and load the scores accordingly.

Wk 13                    27th December - 2nd January 2011       Game Missed

Wk 14                    3rd January - 9th January 2011                Game Missed

Wk 15                    10th January - 16th January 2011             Game Missed

Following on from the huge success of the FIFA 11 launch, PTG are moving with the times and FIFA 11 will be the game of choice for the league and the Regional Finals. Venues can use FIFA 10 for the games, however going forward it will be FIFA 11 that will be used and competed on in the Regional Finals. Initially we had intended to stay with FIFA 10 for this league; however following advice from professionals in the gaming industry and due to the demand for FIFA 11, this has been confirmed as the game of choice. This is not in any way intended to prejudice players used to competing on FIFA 10, it is merely as a natural progression within the industry.

PTG are always looking for venues to host nights, if you are a venue owner and want to get involved then what are you waiting for? Sign up today! If you are a player don't forget to register and get involved. Follow us on facebook.com/playthegamer and twitter.com/playthegamer
