This week Cologne plays host to Europe's largest consumer games
event, GamesCom and with it the
numerous major game announcements, first public hands-on of titles
shortly to be released and the general buzz that surrounds this
type of event. From a PTG perspective one of the main focus areas
and games at the show is the latest addition to EA SPORTS FIFA
series, FIFA 11.
Season One sees PTG using FIFA 10 however we are weighing up the
options of using FIFA 11 for Season Two. From what we have seen of
the game so far and the announcements made at GamesCom it definitely has the
potential to be a winner. With the new gameplay enhancements such
as Personality + and Pro-Passing as well as 360 degree
Fight-For-Possession it looks and feels like a completely new game.
Player personality was a big thing on the agenda for the EA SPORTS
development team in Canada and by all accounts they have done a
great job.
Taking a quick scout around various forums, watching the videos
that have been released and following some key people at GamesCom the feedback so far
has been positive and all the signs are good for FIFA 11. As for
PTG, once the game is released on October 1st we will be
gauging the feedback from all our players to reach a decision on
the best title to use for Season Two. We want to ensure we use the
games you all want to play as well as the best games currently on
offer.
To help with this why not download the FIFA 11 demo when it is
released on September 16th and give us your feedback on
