How is the Prize Pool
calculated?
The prize pool for PTG is guaranteed to be a minimum of £30,000
over the course of the first season.
This has been calculated as follows:
- 70 venues x 48 weeks (12 weeks per league) = 3360 venue playing
nights
- 10 people playing per venue on average per night
- 3360 venue playing nights x 10 people playing per night =
33,600
- 10 people paying £1 per night to the prize pool
- 3360 venue playing nights x £10 per night = £33,600
Therefore the prize pool is calculated to be about £30,000.
We have based it on 70 venues in total around the country but as
you can see from the formula, the more venues that join, the more
players will be playing, therefore the more money will be in the
prize pool.
This prize pool of £30,000 will be divided between the Regional
Finals and the National Finals on a 60/40 basis.
Each Venue in the Region will be paying £1 per player per night
into the prize pool which will build up over the course of the
season. Of this Prize Pool 60% will be put into that regions
Regional Final and 40% will be kept and put towards the next
National Final. This way the Prize Pool for your region will
reflect the real value of the money that your regions players have
paid and will then be divided amongst your regions winners.
